Imagine, at 200 metres above sea level, in the heart of the forests, a magnificent natural amphitheatre above precious underground waters that naturally irrigate the crops, even during prolonged droughts… An ideal setting, attested for centuries by the very name of the place where the vineyard is located: “Favori”.
It is said that rosé was invented in Provence. In any case, the Romans had already planted vines there to produce rosé, the Templars later developed agriculture in the region, which then experienced remarkable growth shortly before the Napoleonic era. This rich history is evidenced by the kilometres of restanques (traditional dry-stone walls built with local stone) and the remains of drainage and irrigation systems scattered across the estate. Generations of winegrowers have preserved this heritage, selling their harvests to a local merchant. In 2019, Château Favori renewed this tradition of excellence by launching its own cuvée.
