Winemaking
This wine is the result of grapes sourced from 8 low-yield, controlled-production plots of A Coroa. The average age of the vineyards, along with the varying altitudes, orientations, and heterogeneous soils, gives the ensemble an exclusive minerality and outstanding complexity.
After a manual harvest by plot, according to ripeness and in 14-kilo boxes, the grapes undergo gentle destemming and cold maceration (5 °C). Each vineyard’s harvest then ferments separately in stainless steel tanks with temperature control.
The result is a harmonious blend where the nobility of the Godello variety is generously expressed, offering a fresh and varietal wine. With an excellent balance between alcohol and acidity, A Coroa 100% Godello is a long and enveloping wine.
Alcoholic fermentation lasts for 25 days at a temperature between 15 and 18 °C.
Tasting notes
Colour: A Coroa Godello 2024 shows a bright straw colour with intense greenish nuances, reminiscent of harmonious combinations of green-leafed flowers and boldly yellow plants.
Nose: With great aromatic clarity and excellent intensity, it subtly reveals spicy notes that blend with aromas of ripe fruits such as peach, pear, apple, and wild herbs. With slight aeration, nuances of pineapple and mango emerge, providing excellent and elegant complexity.
Palate: The entry on the palate is powerful, reflecting the character of a great Godello, while remaining fresh and structured. It is a lively wine with magnificent acidity, notable volume, and full progression on the palate. The finish is persistent, with a marked mineral touch and delicate bitterness characteristic of the terroir, making the aftertaste prolonged, subtle, and elegant.
A Coroa 2024 is characterized by its freshness and varietal expression, with intense aromas and exceptional balance on the palate.
