100% Hondarrabi Beltza. ILUN is the most recent creation by Gorka Izagirre, a truly unique red wine. Made entirely from the native Hondarrabi Beltza variety, until now little known, it stands out for its freshness, singularity, and pure Atlantic character. ILUN, which means “dark” and “god of the night” in Basque, transports us to a little-known side of the txakoli world, a place that was once forgotten and is gradually reclaiming its rightful place.
Tasting notes
Color: A bright cherry-red color with an attractive violet rim. It shows high aromatic intensity, clearly defining from the outset the character of the variety and its Atlantic origin.
Nose: Its herbaceous nature is layered with aromas of red fruits such as redcurrants and raspberries, with an elegant, spicy nuance.
Palate: Light and very pleasant on the palate, with a smooth, velvety texture. It offers a perfectly balanced mouthfeel, full of red fruit and herbaceous flavors, with a fresh balsamic finish.
Food pairing
Thanks to its high acidity, it pairs perfectly with cured meats, poultry, and fish. A wine that will also surprise you alongside all kinds of spicy dishes.
