BlueWines

Ten generations of love for the land

The winery is part of an agricultural estate that once produced olive oil and wheat, which, together with the vineyards, were the main crops in 18th-century Mallorca. Pedro Ribas de Cabrera built the winery in 1711 in Consell, close to the vineyards, marking the beginning of a winemaking activity that has remained in the hands of the same family for ten generations. His father, Pere Joan Ribas, had moved to Consell through marriage from the agricultural estate of Cabrera in Algaida.

Inside the winery, stone presses were installed to ferment the wines, along with “botes congrenyades” (hooped barrels) for their storage. His son, Mateo Ribas, went on to build the olive mill in 1774 and the family home in 1776.
